Ilchee ( Moon Girl ) Columbia Shores in Vancouver

Ilchee, known as “Moon Girl,” was the daughter of the one-eyed chief, Chief Comcomly, of the Chinook Tribe. The Chief was a friend to Lewis and Clark.  Those of us who exercise along the Waterfront Renaissance Trail, which borders the Columbia River, enjoy her steely gaze. The statue is located just west of the restaurants at Columbia Shores.
