West of Battle Ground, Venersborg was established in the early 1900s by Swedish immigrants. Its rural status and historical significance is still seen in the one-room Venersborg Schoolhouse, built in 1912. it is the oldest community building in the State of Washington and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
