MENUCANCEL

Our white Golden Retriever, McKinley, aka Mac, is a delightful part of our family. He is the essence of pure love and joy. You’ll find him tagging along on some of our video adventures in Clark County, and beyond.

Perhaps you’ve seen our video series called, “Mac Moments.”  Mac stars in short productions with mini-lessons about life. Mac, aka McKinley, like most people, has many facets to his personality. However, he’s definitely not an alpha male. At times,  he’s a bit shy, erring on the side of caution, and that’s okay. Once he warms up, you’ve got a friend for life.

When we recently purchased our large decorative light-up pooch for the porch, Bernie worked on the introduction. Even a treat failed to get suddenly shy Mac to come closer. In this Mac Moment, we think he’s reminding us all to stay true to ourselves, “It’s okay to be shy, or quiet, or silly, or…”

Our white Golden Retriever, McKinley, aka Mac, is a treasured family member. He’s the essence of pure love and joy. You’ll find him tagging along on many of our video adventures in Clark County – and beyond. We also have a special series of short videos called “Mac Moments.”  You’ll find him doing ordinary things dogs, the way dogs do, with zest and uninhibited wild abandon. We also find gentle reminders from him about living a joy-filled life.

We now live in a multi-generational ViewHome on acreage with three couples. My husband and me, my sister and her husband, and our parents. Mac has discovered the best part about this shared lifestyle is having a dog-cousin to exercise with on his daily romps. He and Gibbs frequently visit one another’s doors to let their people know it’s time to play.

We also got another message. Recently, the two younger couples joined a fitness facility. We’ve all discovered it’s a lot more fun to exercise with friends. Thanks Mac and Gibbs.

On a trip to Bend, Oregon, it didn’t take much snow for Mac to get silly. In fact, there was very little snow on the ground. We had to keep him on a leash per this particular park rules, but he didn’t seem to mind that either. We wondered if he thought he was making snow angels. Regardless, he reminded us not to take ourselves too seriously. It’s good to get the sillies now and again.

Thanks Mac.

Being Resourceful Adds to Life’s Enjoyment

During a stretch of hot weather at the end of summer, Mac didn’t want to stop playing. But, the heat was taking its toll. He found a way to continue  enjoying the day, his way.  It reminded us that being resourceful often adds to our enjoyment of life.

Bravo to Mac, once again.

We love to hike – the three of us, my husband, Bernie, our dog, Mac, and me.. Right now, the wet weather is keeping us from many of our favorite trails. Muddy, slick, and washed out sections can create treacherous trail conditions this time of year. Spring can’t come soon enough for us

Live in the Moment!

For example, on this particular Fall morning, the sun rose at the perfect time to showcase Mac swimming for a stick, filling the water with sparkling stars. Leave it to nature, right?  It reminded us both to live in the moment and allow the magic to find us.
